Patna: In anticipation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's public address in Bodh Gaya on Friday, Tejashwi Yadav, the Leader of Opposition in Bihar's Assembly, launched a fierce critique against the BJP and the Prime Minister.
Through a post on his official X account, Yadav shared a video, questioning, "PM ji, why do you keep spreading lies day in and day out? Before you start your slogans in Gaya today, listen to this song, which reflects the sentiments of the people of Bihar," he stated.
Yadav continued his criticism by asserting that Modi's upcoming speech would merely be a "market of falsehoods and slogans."
He further claimed, "With his tongue devoid of substance, the PM will fabricate a mountain of lies, but the justice-seeking people of Bihar will dismantle it, just as Dashrath Manjhi did with the mountain."
Yadav urged the Prime Minister to account for his 11 years in power and the 20 years of NDA governance, rather than making new promises.
RJD leader Lalu Prasad Yadav also joined in the criticism of Modi's visit.
He quipped, "Gaya is famous for Pind Daan. The Prime Minister is visiting; he should perform Pind Daan for the double-engine government that denies Bihar special status, undermines constitutional institutions, and robs the marginalized of their rights."
The Prime Minister, who has made several visits to Bihar in the past eight months, is set to inaugurate and lay the groundwork for projects exceeding Rs 12,000 crore. However, the opposition has labeled this tour as an electoral gimmick.
In contrast, BJP and NDA leaders have characterized Modi's visit as part of a "Vikas Yatra," emphasizing significant initiatives in infrastructure, electricity, transport, and housing.
As the election season approaches, PM Modi's frequent visits and the opposition's rebuttals suggest that the political contest in Bihar is intensifying.
